Beginner Worm Bin Setup

(Cheap, Easy, No Guessing)

Hello!

Everyone makes worm composting sound complicated.. it's not.

If you've been overthinking starting a worm bin, this is literally the simplest way to do it without messing up.

Step 1: Get a Bin

  • Storage tote or worm bin

It doesn't need to be fancy

Something like this --> Tote OR this Worm Bin

Step 2: Add Bedding

  • Shredded cardboard or paper

    Slightly damp (not soaking)

Step 3: Add a Layer of Compost

  • Red wigglers (not random worms from outside)

I personally get my worms from Uncle Jims

    (gotta support family-owned right)

Step 4: Add worms

  • Red wigglers (not random worms from outside)

I personally get my worms from Uncle Jims

    (gotta support family-owned right)

Step 5: Feed Them

  • Fruit and veggie scraps

    Start with a small amount

Step 6: Leave Them Alone

  • biggest mistake is overfeeding while they're trying to adjust to their new home
